Non-Scientist Description: As part of the summer research program, I will do a 10-week research project. My project will be on the heart or lungs. I will also attend science seminars, career workshops, and social events. The goal of this training is to give me more knowledge about cardiovascular science, and experience doing research. I will also learn about how to pursue a career in cardiovascular research or medicine.

Project Description: As part of the summer research program, I will participate in a 10 week research project in the field of cardiovascular medicine. I will primarily be working with a lab in the Stanford Cardiovascular Institute. In addition to my research project, I will participate in cardiovascular science seminars, career development workshops, and networking and social events. The goal of this 10 week training period is to provide me a better foundation of knowledge of cardiovascular science topics, the skills to perform cardiovascular research, and the information, resources, and support to pursue a career in cardiovascular research and/or medicine.
