CVI will help provide students with Stanford SoM keycard badge access for the Biomedical Innovations (BMI) building. We are able to help with some* additional building requests.

Students should receive their keycard on their first day.

<aside> 📌 *Unfortunately, CVI cannot help process badge access for all buildings. Some buildings may require your mentor’s support to receive access.

Keycard Access for Additional Buildings

Option 1 - Bring New Form to Keycard Office

• Fill out the Photo ID Form and print it.

• Get it signed by whoever handles appointments/access in your department (Department Authorizing Signature).

• Get the bottom filled out and signed by the Building Manager.

• The student can take the signed sheet to the badge office: room K030 on the basement floor of new Stanford Hospital, along with the student’s existing badge and proof of ID. The badge office is open from 8am - 3pm, M-F.

• This option is cumbersome but fast.

Option 2 - Request by Email

• Write down the long number on the back of the student’s existing badge.
• Email the building manager that number, requesting keycard badge access for the building. The building manager can email the badge office.
• This option is easy, but may take longer.
• This may be the preferred option for non-School of Medicine buildings. Ask your direct mentor for support.
