Students are expected to attend all CVI summer program events, which will usually fall between 10am and 12pm PT on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If these times conflict with established lab meeting times or important experiments, students are excused from attendance.

In addition to working on their lab projects, students will participate in the following programming during the 10-week program.

• Training Workshops: Proposal & Milestones, Abstract Writing, Presentation Skills, possibly Introduction to R
• Seminars in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Science, Scientific Research Methods, and Professional Development topics (10am-12pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays)
• Social Events - 2-3 throughout the summer, usually in the evening
• Summer Research Symposium on August 9th
• Optional Co-Working Sessions and Identity Curriculum Sessions: 3pm-5pm on Mondays
• Optional MAvERICS Team Projects

Stanford Events

CVI Summer Students are welcome to attend many events at Stanford throughout the summer. The Stanford Events website has links to register for numerous seminars, workshops, and other events. Events that are open to all students, Stanford Affiliates, and/or the general public will be clearly noted. Events that are only for Summer Session students are usually restricted to students enrolled at Stanford.

Students should only participate in these events if they do not conflict with their lab responsibilities.
