In general your PI will help identify a place for you to work while you are pursuing research in their lab. Sometimes lab and desk space can be very limited on campus, and PIs may request trainees identify additional locations outside the lab to work on their laptops.
All students will have full access to the BMI building. Each floor has multiple public spaces with comfortable chairs, tables, and access to free coffee and tea. Because these are public areas, students should make sure to keep track of their belongings and not leave them unattended.
All students will have access to Stanford’s Lane Library which has several locations suitable for independent work. Additionally, see the link below for more study locations across Stanford’s campus.
